How to meditate in Islamic way?
Islam has always showed path to all the problems in the world. Even though Islam has showed a way to live in a peaceful manner, the people do not follow it. If they follow it, becoming stress and depress will not be a problem. Normally meditation is prescribed in Islam but not obligatory. Muslims believe that Allah (God) will not burden them with something they are unable to bear. And if they are burden with something there will definitely be a solution for it. If they are in a state of difficulty, they should seek help from their god with the faith on him.
The ways to meditate;
If they are feeling depressed, anxious or stressed out, then as Muslims their god has kept solution is the prayer ( the five times obligatory prayer ). When they prostrate to their god with whole trust in him, the feeling of stress and depression can be ceased out. But meditation is not only to overcome stress and depression; it is also done to lead a steady and healthy life. When you can control your problems before it ruins your life then you are a person with strong heart and mind. And that is what Islam teaches through meditation. There are two main ways to meditate in Islamic religion such as,
- By prostrating to god five times a day.
- Remembering and praising God ( that is called dhikr)
By prostrating five times a day;
Meditation is can be explained as collecting yourself. As Muslims prostrating god will help you overcome worldly difficulties. But how will that happen? Muslims believe that praying five times a day (prostrating) is as speaking directly to their god. When they pray they must not think about the worldly things, their only focus should be their god. Normally very pious people could do that but others find it difficult. But Islam says meet your god even in difficulties. When praying their god Muslims control their thoughts. This is of course meditation.
